TRADITION

Since its humble beginnings in 1985 in my grandparents’ backyard, our dad’s BBQ sauce has been a cherished part of The Green Family. From neighborhood barbecues to family celebrations and Sunday dinners, the aroma of dad’s sauce simmering in the kitchen always signaled a delicious meal ahead. Over the years, he meticulously perfected the recipe, and soon, extended family members were clamoring for more, often asking, “What did you put on this, and when can I get some?” Despite dad’s reluctance to expand, he would occasionally fill up any available container to share with family. As I grew older, I realized that this incredible flavor was something everyone deserved to experience. At 33, dad finally entrusted me with his recipe, and I began sharing samples with my colleagues. Their enthusiastic responses and constant inquiries of “Why don’t you bottle this and sell it?” inspired me to take the leap. In 2016, our dad’s BBQ sauce officially became known as Pop's Silky Sweet which later became Lavel’s - Original, a product born from years of dedication and family tradition, now ready to bring joy to your table.
